Otonashi Kyoko
Manager of Ikkokkan and goddess of Godai's fantasies. She was married briefly to
Otonashi Soichiro before he passed away. A year later she came to Ikkokkan and
lives in room 0.
音無惣一朗
Otonashi Soichiro
Kyoko's late husband. Nobody in Ikkokkan (nor the reader) has ever seen his face.
惣一朗さん
Soichiro-san
Kyoko's dog. It followed Soichiro home one day on the scent of yakitori. Answers
to the name Soichiro-san, but has been known to answer to anything else as long as
you dangle food in front of it.
一の瀬健太郎
Ichinose Kentaro
Lives in room 1. A grade school student who is always ashamed of his mother's
drunken behavior.
一の瀬花子
Ichinose Hanako
Resident of room 1. She's drunk all the time.
二階堂望
Nikaido Nozomu
Resident of room 2 (right below Godai's). Was going to live in a much better place
but developed a crush on Kyoko instead.
三鷹瞬
Mitaka Shun
Godai's rival for Kyoko's love. Comes from a rich family and teaches tennis to
housewives.
四谷
Yotsuya
Nobody knows where he came from or what he does. Lives in room 4.
五代裕作
Godai Yuusaku
A ronin who later got into a 3rd-rate college. Future uncertain. But for Kyoko,
he's determined to graduate! That's difficult since his room is the 1st choice
for parties. He lives in room 5.
六本木朱美
Roppongi Akemi
Waitress at Chachamaru, where the whole gang often meet to party. Resident of room 6.
七尾こずえ
Nanao Kozue
Godai's steady girlfriend. Godai has trouble parting with her and she has no clue
as to what's going on.
八神いぶき
Yagami Ibuki
One of Godai's students who developed a serious crush on him. She and Kozue cost
Godai many a night's sleep.
九条明日菜
Kujou Asuna
Mitaka's omiai aite. Comes from a rich family with very good upbringing. Their
two families arranged their engagement. She went along as she thought that's what
Mitaka wanted...
